PCS Lodging

PCS Lodging for Military and Government Travel

Active Duty Military travelers on government orders for a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) re-assignment are authorized PCS Lodging while house hunting at a new duty station or if awaiting housing on base.  There will often be a waiting list post housing on a military installation.  Many military service members may also choose to live off post in the local area, and may reside in an apartment or house rental.

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) typically allows Active Duty Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps personnel a Temporary Lodging Expenses (TLE) when arriving at a new duty station.  This allows a military service member to stay in per diem rate PCS Lodging while house hunting on permissive TDY.

PCS Lodging allowances generally last about 10 days and are reimbursed through DFAS to cover the cost of staying in a hotel during the first 10 days of arrival, to find permanent housing on or off base.  Our DoD lodging options are located near every major military installation and include hotels, furnished apartments, and corporate housing options while house hunting at a new assignment or TDY location.

While receiving an allowance for PCS Lodging, many service members choose to stay in a hotel or extended stay type of establishment.  Although the typical PCS Lodging allowance generally lasts 10 days, many military service members may find it difficult to find suitable housing arrangements during this allowed time.  For extended stay accommodations requiring a longer house hunting period, TDY Lodging has many options for your PCS move including hotels, furnished apartments, and corporate housing solutions for your PCS lodging needs.
